"Handweaver's Horizon" is a university project where I combined fantasy elements with virtual reality to create an interactive world of three floating islands, each offering unique environments and challenges. Players can explore a variety of landscapes, including a city connected to another island with a temple at its peak, a dark island with a complex cave system, and more.
The game’s narrative centers on a scientist who finds themselves in a land overseen by an eye deity. Communication and magic in this world are intertwined, with hand signs being used not only to communicate but also to cast spells controlling the elements of fire, wind, and rain. As players progress, they learn these hand signs, which become essential to overcoming environmental obstacles.
For the development of "Handweaver's Horizon," I created most of the 3D assets and implemented the entire game within Unity. A key feature of the project is its gesture-based control system, utilizing hand-tracking technology to allow players to interact with the environment in a natural and immersive way, free from the need for controllers.
